Successful European Project Design and Management of ERASMUS+ Mobility Projects


This structured course aims to improve participants’ practical skills in the design, management and funding of European projects from shaping the idea, to identify the right European programme, to design a good project to get the funds.

The general aim of this course is:

  • to improve the quality and the accessibility of European projects
  • to foster European integration and excellence in education by empowering and training teachers, education staff and those interested in developing European learning projects
  • to successfully access and manage European funds.
  • Thanks to this project the participants will:

  • Acquire knowledge and practical information about EU policies and funding opportunities 2014-2020, notably Erasmus+, through specific and project-oriented learning sessions;
  • Improve their practical skills related to the management of the ideation and application process through cooperative compilation of application forms and the analysis of successful projects;
  • Learn and get guidance on the preparation and management of the financial, budgeting and contractual aspects through concrete examples and direct evidences;
  • Learn best practices related the planning and implementation of the preparatory, visibility, dissemination and follow-up phases through concrete case studies and successful projects;
  • Make contacts with individuals and organizations interested in developing European projects through everyday cooperation and specific networking activities.
  • This course is open to: teachers, trainers, headmasters, school and education managers, educational counsellors, project coordinators, mobility coordinators, other school staff, other adult education staff, other higher education staff, other non-governmental organization staff.


    The course comprises 5 Days:

    1st day:

  • Project Cycle Management: An Overview: the Cycle of Operations. PCM principles and the Logical Framework Approach. Key documents and responsibilities
  • “Calls for Proposals” –how to analyse a call. Programs and guidelines (focusing on ERASMUS+ and other European projects)
  • 2nd day:

  • Formulation and Implementation: Purpose. Key tasks and responsibilities. Key assessments and tools. Assessment criteria and standards. Key documents and results Deciding next steps.
  • How to submit a project
  • 3nd day:

  • Managing the Mobility Project activities: An Overview: the Project mobility phases
  • The communication flow with the partners. Tasks and responsibilities within the Project consortium
  • Best practice exchange and map of training needs for the course
  • 4th day:

  • Evaluation and Monitoring: definition of monitoring, regular review, evaluation and audit
    Key tasks and responsibilities. Key assessments, tools and documents. Quality issues and best practice
  • Promoting the exploitation and sustainability of the project
    Main dissemination activities to implement before the Project end. Documentation for Project exploitation and sustainability
  • 5th day:

  • Organizing the project material for external audits: The audit procedure
