ECVET FOR MOBILITY: How to use ECVET for Geographical Mobility?


The European Qualification Framework (ECVET) is an European system for transfer of credit points in Vocational Education and Training field. Its aim is to foster transnational mobility and access to learning throughout the life span. Mobility of learners is a key factor for students in Vocational Education: it helps develop their vocational competences and improve their opportunities in the European labour market, strengthen their personality and supports the development of their European identity.

ECVET is applied to learning outcomes acquired in the various educational and training sectors which are transferred, recognized and accumulated for the purpose of acquiring a professional qualification. ECVET aims to enable European citizens to obtain the recognition of training, skills and knowledge gained in another Member State more easily.

The main aim of this training course is to provide participants:

  • the necessary knowledge of European policies and evolution in the field of VET;
  • drafting training courses using Learning Outcomes (LO);
  • structuring the content of the training courses in Units of LO;
  • get familiar with the ECVET instruments: the Memorandum Of Understanding, the Learning Agreement, the tools for the assessment and validation of achieved learning outcomes.
  • The course comprises 5 Days:

    1st day:

  • Geographical Learning Mobility on VET Contexts in Europe: Different levels and complexity of mobility, examples of mobility
  • ECVET contexts and challenges. ECVET Recommendation. European tools for mobility and transparency – an overview: EUROPASS, EQCM, EQF, EQAVET
  • 2nd day:

  • ECVET Technical specifications in the context of mobility. Learning Outcomes and Unit of Learning Outcomes
  • ECVET tools: Memorandum of Understanding, Learning Agreement, tools for assessment and validation of achieved learning outcomes
  • Credit points, Validation, Recognition, Accumulation
  • Interpreting ECVET (Learning pathways, social inclusion, labour market, increasing employability, building European citizenship)
  • Best practices collections and sharing
  • 3nd day:

  • ECVET mobility in practice: Analysis ECVET flexibility in national context
  • Quality Assurance in the context of ECVET
  • An example of mobility using ECVET principles
  • Working groups: from mobility to ECVET mobility. Mobility project corner
  • 4th day:

  • ETN experience and tools in ECVET implementation. The Quality standards and the procedure designed by the Education and Training Network
  • The stages of the ECVET implementation: pre - mobility, during the mobility and post – mobility
  • Marketing ECVET to stakeholders. Training Vision experience with monitoring and evaluation. The assessment tools: Student Handbook, Company Handbook and Skills Portfolio
  • 5th day:

  • Running ECVET mobility
  • Feedback of working groups

  • Sharing experience: case studies, researches and models. Course evaluation: Useful achievements. Future steps.
